Dear Donna Hugh,
In response to your letter dated June 9th of this very year, I would like to further express my joy of this discovery that you have acknowledged. This discovery is young Patrick Fugit, someone close to our very own hearts, for reasons of Almost Famous-ness, general young innocence and somewhat cuteness. In watching Saved, I have concluded that he is a fine young actor with very strange hair. Other performances that I enjoyed were from my Home Alone hero whom I love dearly and even moreso after this very film. Thankyou for this celebration of our coming of age. I will look back on this as a time of wonder.

Farewell young Hugh and may the Hugh be with you,

Parker Parker Laura Parker

Dear Donna Hugh,
I trust that as the early bird that you are, you shall read this upon awakening at some ungodly hour. In reading your letter, I have decided to accept that the Walking Project excursion is one that may not be undertaken tomorrow, that is, April 6th 2005. However, I expect that sometime in the future we can both join forces towards our common main goal, which is to walk, and to walk good. In response to the uproar of the Hugh household, I suggest that you inform your parents that the Walking Project will infact go ahead, whether they walk with us or without. And indeed Hugh, I would say to you that I hope Mr and Mrs Hugh will infact let you walk places unaccompanied occasionally, or else I do wonder how you will be able to test cordless phone lines within the general housing area.
Furthermore, I would like to extend to you my gratitude in your dedication and commitment to walking to my humble household, and state that wherever in the world you may be, whether Japan or simply a garden shed, the Parker Parker Laura Parker household will be open for you to lay your hat. Because, that's your home.

Yours Sincerely,

Parker Parker Laura Parker

This was kicking around ages ago, and I didn't feel the need to do it. But, I'm bored, and it's a timewaster! So what the hell!

Woo! I finished with the skirt. It didn't go as planned because I ran out of the material I needed, so I've started making another one in the coming week. But, I just altered the design a bit. Added bits of ribbon, netting, and an applique heart.

I bought a pretty pretty skirt today for half price in the sale! Ah, there were many sales and this made me smile :) I also got some new shoes for the prom, and lipglosses, because ya know, you can never have too many lipglosses.

I bought the skirt, mostly because it's prettyyyy, but also because I wanted a kind of base to make more, so I've started making a white one now. I still have to add the top layer with the frills and such, but the main skirt is looking pretty good, considering I hand sewed it while watching south park at 1am last night lol :P

So far...

The Lost Boys [13 Aug 2004|12:38am]
[ mood | awake ]

I started watching The Lost Boys today, but then my parents wanted to watch something so I've had to tape everything past the first 25 minutes. It's very cool so far. I'm a sucker for most vampire things :S Also, I looked up the movie after and realised it was set in Santa Cruz, or at least the boardwalk scenes. I thought those rides seemed familiar! I've been on that big wooden rollerscoaster, and the chairs that fly overhead with the random plastic man in hehe. Ah, simple things.

Would anyone be interested in doing a package swap? Or maybe more than one if it went well. Just a few items, made or bought, letters, cards, random things. It's 1:36am and I believe I am being random. I've come across this delightful idea a few times and I just wanted to get an idea of anyone who might want to, baring in mind I'm in England though :S It seems like a good idea at this point in time lol.

I'm making a few changes in my life, nothing major though. More on the fitness front. I seem to have some sort of obsession with working out around 9pm of a summer's evening. So, I'm joining a gym. Except not one of the ones where you pay hundreds of pounds up front and never use. I'm going to pay on each session at a local, slightly smaller club, that way it'll actually work out and if I get bored in a month, then I..leave :P
I've also started eating healthier, not because I want to lose weight or anything, just because I want to be more in shape within myself. My friend Becki has started eating more healthily and she said she can't remember the last time she was ill, she has a lot more energy and her body feels great for having done it. So, you know, why not?
I got some felt yesterday, so I'm going to make a few more little critters later, and I'll post pics of how those turn out. That was a little random.

Plan [08 Aug 2004|11:03am]

[ music | Matchbox 20 - Downfall ]

I have finally worked out a plan for my future. It's sketchy, but valid all the same, and I hope that I will be sticking to it. The first stage is Uni. I have 6 courses I want to apply to, and I have just started my personal statement. (can you say hell?) Next, I do work experience the first summer of Uni, in America. And if cash allows, or I have the chance, do it the following summer too. After 3 years, I'll have completed a business, media and english course, or a combination of 2 of those subjects. I'll then begin an 18 month stay in a US company where I'll train and work in America. This will add a hell of a lot to my CV and skills, and may make me particularly employable to an international company. Or, I take a year out, to do something similar, but also to travel and earn some money to help with my uni loan.

'bout time I updated really.

I AM SURVIVING THE WEEK!

So, on Monday began my work experience, and I got lost three times throughout the day :P oh it's one of my best qualities. Monday at Lloyd's itself, was fantastic, but I was ready to burst into tears after having such a bad experience outside the building. However, by Tuesday all was well and I was beginning to find my way around. Now, I'm totally fine, and it's all excellent! I've had such an amazing time this week. I've spent time in lots of different departments, mainly based in media. And helping employees do things such as run the company website, investigate fraud, (liason with the FBI - shocking isnt it!?) making fun of the chaos that is the underwriter floor, with insurance brokers and such and many other interesting tasks. Today, was my last day, and though I was sad to leave, I'm so fucking tired it's unbelievable. I'm getting up at 6:30am and getting back home at 7:00pm :S
So basically I haven't had much time to do anything else. But to [info]russiankiss and [info]beautifuletdown who told me I'd be fine, wasn't so sure on Monday, but now, yep you were totally right.

I'm starting my work experience this week in London. I'm really nervous. I knew I would be, but I'm sure I'll be ok. It's in the City, where all the big buck businesses are, so I figure I'll just follow all the suit-ed people, as there shall be many. :P
My mum works for the company in the branch down here, so she said if you do a good job they might offer you work in the summer, which would be excellent. I also handed in lots of CVs to my local shopping centre, a few card shops, WHSmith's, Boots and Virgin. Virgin would be wonderous, since seeing Empire Records, it's always been an ambition to work in a music store :P ahhh sweet sweet unlimited music access...kinda

I have nothing to say about the football, other than the ref was a disgrace, and there was nothing wrong with that goal. I am bitter. Oh yes.

Pictures....
Some of them look better than I thought they would. Some not. Apologies to any slow loading and for largeness...

Twas the birthday of moi yesterday and alas, most of it, was spent on the journey back from Cornwall. Happy Birthday to [info]bigplasticbox also, as was the same day!

It took us 7 hours to return! But it was lots of fun, and the Uni was gorgeous. The only thing holding me back is gonna be the distance, because everything about it was just fantastic! And the area is so damn beautiful, right by Newquey and St Ives. Surfing and such. I won't bore you with more tales, but it was fun anyways.
Back at school now for the last few weeks weeks. I don't believe I'll be attending Psychology lessons that much, if I'm being honest. A bit pointless really, I'd rather be working on my other subjects as it is indeed a definite drop for next year.

[ music | Jet - Look What You've Done ]

Went into London yesterday. Twas fun! I bought a shiny new belt, underwear, some guitar type socks, a new pair of shoes and assorted tops. We spent two hours in TopShop alone, which I had no problem with at all. Then we went to see Fame, which was ok. The dancing was amazing, but the acting was....not so much. A good day was had though.
I'm leaving for Cornwall tomorrow morning and won't be back until tuesday night. I will be fed masses of new information. It's kind of scary that all this is so close. I don't really want to think about leaving all of my friends. We only have a year left. I know I'm never going to find a better bunch of people in my whole life. This does bring it home. At the same time, I know that the uni is going to be amazing and bring a whole bunch of new opportunities. It's just a different sort of life I guess. A lot of changes. I'm also going to have to decide if it would be worth being that far from home, as it's about 7 hours.

[ music | The Killers - Mr Brightside ]

Everyone loves Business Studies revision! Revision is everyone's best friend! This may be sarcasm, who knows?
Also, I booked my place for the open day of Falmouth. Unfortunately, it falls on my birthday, so I'll be away for the day and days either side since it will take at least 6 hours to get down there. Not particularly fun. Plus, my dad is insisting he comes with me and my mum, and I'd really rather he didn't. I know they'll just be arguing in the car the whole way, which isn't normally that big a deal, but when we're driving to Cornwall, it'll be hell. I really don't want him to come. My family don't go well with long car journeys.

London Calling : Strikes Back [01 Jun 2004|11:38am]
[ music | Razorlight - Golden Touch ]

We went to London yesterday for a flight on the Eye, the sunset flight, except it wasn't exactly that dark :S Which was a shame. Still, was fun. Two of the random people we asked to say 'London Calling' on camera last time, were still there!! We were so proud and rather overly excited, seeing as they remembered us and our strangeness. This amused us greatly. So we made them say it again with 'part 2'
Other fun was to do with a zebra painted statue-man and trips to Topshop where we all lose...everyone due to size. I left my batteries for my digital camera on charge because I suck, therefore had to purchase a disposable one for the visit, so I'll have to scan those in.

YAY!
